Well after Taylor won the school spelling bee she had a few weeks to study some more and get ready for the county wide spelling bee, where the winner there would go on to Washington DC to compete in the national spelling bee. I have to say Taylor was a bundle of nerves. After getting there and getting all signed in I took a few pictures of her and then it was time to start. She was number 46 out of 48 (they go alphabetically)
She did pretty good she made it through the first round with the word tithe (which we all thought was funny since we had just come from church.
. As you can see we were a little worried about the podium and how tall it was but she did fine. She did get out in the second round with the word stucco. She says she will never forget how to spell that word again. We were very proud of her for trying something new and different taking her out of her comfort zone since she can be a little quiet sometimes. After it was over all the kids who participated got a goody bag full of stuff. Including rodeo and air show tickets and tons of pens and other school supplies from office depot, and a variety of other things. It was a great experience that I am sure she will never forget.
