Brianne's fieldtrip to The Farm!

Today was Brianne's field trip to The Farm in Speckle's, so much fun. It's a cute farm, they have pumpkins of course as well as a farmers store with all organic fruits and vegie's. We started off with a class picture all the kids were quite excited to be there.

One great thing that they do here at The Farm is aside from the tour they talk to the kids about fruits and vegie's. The question is... How do you know if its a fruit or a vegetable? The kids were all so cute since they have figured it out that if it has seeds its a fruit!! Our wonderful guide cut open many fruits and vegie's and let the kids look at them all and figure out what was what. I think it will stick with them, which is good.

Then is was outside for some more learning he taught them about how they have starter plants and then they picked a few vegies and he would cut them open again and show them to the kids. He talked about what vegies you eat the root of and what you eat the leaves of etc. The kids loved being involved.

After the lessons they got to go over to the animal part of the farm and learn about animals and they even got to pet the bunnies. I think that was a huge hit as well, as you can see a few of them almost went over the wall trying to get the bunnies.

Then it was off for a hay ride to the pumpkin area of the farm where the kids were all told that they could pick out any pumpkin they wanted they just had to be able to carry it themselves. So here is a few pictures of Brianne deciding what pumpkin she wanted.

She was super cute picking them up and trying to walk with it. I thought she picked a good one.

She even seemed happy with it, however its not the one she ended up with. I think we went thru like 4 different pumpkins, I was cracking up every time she would pick it up and put it down again.

So this is the one she came home with. She liked it and that is all that mattered to me, that and she could carry it herself.

we took a picture at the end of the two of us. It was a great day out having fun. It was even cold and windy so fall is in the air. She had a ton of fun, and I know they are already talking about the next field trip they are going on... My Museum here we come.
